Design Wall Monday!

Hexagon progress!  Confession.  I'm so over hexagons!  I am trying to go full steam ahead and make a finish of this, but....I'm over 'em.  Another confession.  This is no longer a completely handpieced project.  Yes, those little hexie flowers are being zig zagged together.  I think they're fine.

Linking up with Design Wall Monday at Patchwork Times where you'll see lots of pretty design wall offerings!

zigzag sounds like a great idea and much more reasonable to make it a quicker finish! You should show a close-up pic of the stitches - are you using clear thread?

No. Clear thread would make way too much sense. I'm just using a neutral beigeish thread I had on hand. You can see the stitches, but they're small & it just doesn't bother me. If & when it ever gets quilted I think it will matter even less.

Oh my! That looks gorgeous!

You can do it!! Take a break and sew something fast and satisfying then get back to these.
I would also like a closeup of the zigzag stitching.

So gorgeous tho'. I managed to stay away from the Hexies...but what the heck, I'm doing Yo-yos! Not much difference. I think the zigzag is a great idea! Toni

They do take a lot of energy. I have been working on mine for years. When I get burned out, I take a break and go back later.

gorgeous colors and love your layout. I have been working on a yo yo quilt for a bit. I hit the wall with it and haven't finished it yet. Hmm, soon!

LOL sometimes we just grow tired of a project don't we! it looks pretty no matter if it is hand done or machine done - done is what we want :)

Wow, that is a lot of hexagons! I can see why you are over them :-) I think your zig zag idea is great. I have a friend who does the same thing and it really works well and her quilts always lay really flat.

Jane, I can't even believe you were handpiecing all of those little hexies! Phew, you're a stronger woman than me because I couldn't have done it. It is very pretty though and it will make a stunning quilt when you're done.

Wow, they look amazing! I know how you feel about being 'over' a project. I find that I have to take a break otherwise I get so sick of seeing it I don't want to finish! But that is worth persevering with, it's a beauty!
